A Library of Wisdom: Celebrating the Generous Book Donations to Our Foundation
The core mission of the Ibn Arabi Foundation is to serve as a center for the revival of Akbarian sciences. A vital component of this mission is our resource library, which provides scholars, researchers, and students with access to essential texts on Ibn ‘Arabī and related fields of metaphysics, Sufism, and Islamic philosophy. The growth of this specialized library would be impossible without the vision and generosity of our supporters.
We are profoundly grateful to the many individuals and institutions who have contributed to our collection. Among our most significant supporters is Iqbal Academy Pakistan, a prestigious government institution dedicated to promoting the thought of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
We extend our deepest appreciation to Mr. Muhammad Suhail Umer, the former Director General of Iqbal Academy Pakistan. Through his personal commitment and official capacity, Mr. Umer facilitated a foundational donation of books that has become a cornerstone of our library. The extensive collection of seminal works published by the renowned Suhail Academy, which are indispensable for any student of Shaykh al-Akbar, were generously gifted by him.
Official records from 2009, including letters addressed to the Foundation’s President, Mr. Abrar Ahmed Shahi, document these invaluable contributions. These donations have provided our scholars with access to the foremost contemporary scholarship in the field, including the masterful translations and works of William C. Chittick, Michel Chodkiewicz, and many others.
Below is a detailed list of the books gifted by Iqbal Academy Pakistan under the directorship of Mr. Muhammad Suhail Umer.
